Don’t you dare denying reality
He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb. (Romans 4:19)
When God promised to give Abraham a son, he didn’t pretend his body was young and able to have a son. He didn’t use positive thinking or recited a mantra “I will have a son. I will have a son.”. No, he believed in the word that came from God’s mouth even though he was an old man. He faced the fact ahead of him: that by nature he couldn’t be a father anymore, but because God could give him a son, he would achieve the promise made to him.
Faith is not denying reality, but believing God can and will change reality as he desires. So don’t you dare denying reality when trusting God, but trust him even though nothing about reality helps you trust in him.
