Managing your own Google Ads? There are several metrics that are constantly being served to you, but here are the Top 10 Google Ad Metrics to look at and how to interpret them:

It’s no secret that Google Ads can be an overwhelming place for marketers, keeping your business goals in mind will help you prioritize what metrics are the most valuable in your success. Here’s my list of the Top 10 Google Ad Metrics I check daily:

1. Clicks — this is obvious, but making sure you’re seeing a good volume of clicks means your ad copy and message is resonating.

Low clicks? Consider improving your keywords and copy.

2. Cost — another obvious one, but if you’re not seeing a return on the money you’re spending it’s time to reevaluate.

High cost, low results? Take a look at your landing page, make sure the destination matches your keywords and your ad headlines.

3. CTR — your click-thru-rate is important to see how you’re measuring up with competitors. If you are getting high impressions but low clicks, it’s time to change your message.

Low CTR? Check your keywords, if they are too broad you may be casting too big of a net.
