Debunking “Trans Women Are Not Women” Arguments
Julia Serano

It is so exhausting and demeaning as trans people to have to constantly explain and defend our genders. I just gave a presentation on trans issues and Wikipedia, which I led off by saying that trans and non-binary identities are legitimate and not subject to debate. In the talk I referred to an argument about whether a Wikipedia article should refer to trans women as women, and noted how offensive it is to have that be considered a legitimate subject for discussion. (I also referenced you in defining gender identity and “subconscious sex”, which has been very helpful to me in explaining my own identity).
