After completing an exclusive pre-order offer for XWallet users on December 14, 2019, the pre-order of Blok On Blok (BOB) smartphone for regular buyers will be first open in Japan on the Campfire website, starting at noon GMT+9 on December 15, 2019.

Campfire is one of the largest crowd-funding platforms in Japan, hosting 28,000 projects since 2011. This is the platform to better serve our Japanese BOB buyers.

First 10 to order the BOB may purchase it for ¥63,800, the next 20 may buy it for ¥66,000 and the next 70 may buy it for ¥69,300. The first 100 orders will all get Function X Swag Bags and at least five Function X-themed XPASS Cards.

Once the first 100 orders are completed, the standard price will be ¥69,300. Every purchase comes with one XPASS Card.

The shipping cost is estimated to be ¥3,300 per unit, which has been included when you place your order with Campfire.

Blockchain OS and other Key Features

BOB comes with its own OS powered by f (x) or Function X, for a complete decentralization of all data. This means, no one can share, monitor or block the text messages, calls, or any data that every BOB user shares online.

This is made possible by the blockchain running behind the OS. Each BOB functions as a node of the entire f (x) ecosystem, supporting every action made by every BOB user. More BOBs means a stronger ecosystem for all.

Still, we understand not everyone is ready to go off the grid or be completely connected through blockchain, which is why we designed BOB with a dual-mode function. Each BOB can be toggled between Android mode or blockchain mode seamlessly with just a swipe

The Android mode can function like any traditional smartphone, running on the Android 9 Pie operating system.

Customizable design

Each BOB package comes with a MOD assembly kit that includes the following core components: motherboards, display screens, cameras, audio speakers, buttons, and other related accessories. Once fully assembled, the BOB looks like every tech junkie’s phone in the next decade — functionally designed with a futuristic feel.

The customization part comes right after the assembly. If you want to change the look, you can 3D print the parts and add it to your BOB.

Once fully deployed to the public, each BOB would then look and feel different on everyone’s hands as they are customized according to one’s needs and wants. Truly, the BOB is the phone that empowers the individual.

The pre-order on Campfire will be ended at 08:59 GMT+9 on February 2, 2020 with limited units available.
