Hanging On
It’s time, I know, I said goodbye
And let the line be drawn
Alas, for me, although I try
I find I can’t move on.
For when my mind provides the will,
Continuing my pace,
My heart falls back and lingers still
And longs to see your face.
And so, with thoughts, I must create
A perfect world inside,
To soothe the stubborn heart that waits
For you, and for all time.
