How to scan an infected Windows computer? With a second opinion malware scanner

  • Download the 64-bit version
  • Start the app
  • Settings -> Scan for Tracking Cookies -> off -> OK
  • start menu -> Next
  • Now it’s scanning your computer
  • Finish

Malwarebytes AdwCleaner

  • Exit

Microsoft Safety Scanner

  • Download the 64-bit version
  • Start the app
  • You can start a quick scan or a full scan
log file saved in c:\windows\debug\msert.log
  • Exit

Dr. Web CureIt

  • Options -> Settings -> Exclusions
  • Scan contents of the following files: -> Archives -> on
  • ok
  • Select “Start scanning” for a quick scan or “Select objects for scanning” to scan all disks (recommended)
  • Finish

Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool

  • Change parameters -> Objects to scan -> turn all disks on (recommended)
  • Add object -> Select C:\ -> OK
  • Start scan
  • Finish

Trend Micro HouseCall

  • Settings -> Full System Scan (recommended) -> OK
  • Finish
