Don’t create a sense of urgency, foster a sense of purpose.

Hi Kimber,

So appreciate the way you’ve laid out what I’ve been trying to verbalized for years; spot on! I’m already working on a way to incorporate your ideas of ‘purpose driven efforts’ into a translated post Chinese New Year discussion with the team on this side of the water as we set some of our goals for 2016! Much of what we do with regards to quality and supply chain is ‘reactive’ and almost always paired with words like ‘crisis’ and ‘urgent’! Pushing to motivate the team with these terms is exhausting, stressful and counter productive. Can’t wait to share the ideas of ‘purpose drive’ motivations with our vendors and associates alike!
