2017 has been a great year as we plugged more into the ecosystem, increased our collaboration with regional & international partners and players as well as contributed to meaningful conversations.

Shifted gears in March and saw us organize our monthly DrinkEntrepreneurs event with a focus on “Community edition” to usher in the year and increase networking among st the local ecosystem. We also collaborated with Singularity University as an outreach partner for Kenya & Rwanda for their annual Global Impact Challenge — read more on the local winner here.
April saw us do our first engagement with public sector under the auspices of the Capital Markets Authority. The CMA Business Incubator and Accelerator listing experience allowed interested companies with potential to list at the Nairobi Securities Exchange with an opportunity to participate in a stage by stage, one on one, engagement with relevant intermediaries in the listing process to assist in demystifying the requirements and processes of going public and to allow successful candidates to chart their own listing road-map.
We partnered and collaborated with Startupbootcamp to hold 2 local Fast Tracks: InsureTech & SmartCity in May & August respectively to provide local startups with access to global markets and investment.
September saw our Managing Partner Douglas Ogeto selected as one of the SXSW Accelerator Pitch Advisory Board member. The Advisory Board lend their industry expertise as they evaluate hundreds of applications and help determine the companies that will present in March.
