Growing from a collection of fishing villages in 1978 to a global industrial powerhouse of over 12 million people in 2018, Shenzhen is one of the biggest stories of China’s rise.

Students and faculty of the Future Hardware Project will investigate, catalog, and map the ecosystem of partners (designers, manufacturers, service providers) for early-stage hardware companies and entrepreneurs and create a connected hardware product as a way to explore the manufacturing and design capabilities of Shenzhen.

A joint project between Hax and The Program on Creativity + Innovation at NYU Shanghai.
