SpaceX Polaris Dawn Mission which was supposed to carry four astronauts to deep space has been delayed for 24 hours due to Helium leakage.

“Teams are taking a closer look at a ground-side helium leak on the Quick Disconnect umbilical. Falcon and Dragon remain healthy and the crew continues to be ready for their multi-day mission to low Earth orbit. Next launch opportunity is no earlier than Wednesday, August 28,” SpaceX announced in an X post on Monday evening (Aug. 26).

With that being said, the Falcon 9 rocket is now targeting liftoff carrying the astronauts on August 28 at exactly 3:38 a.m. EDT (0738 GMT). But SpaceX also offered two launch backup opportunities that same day as well for 5:23 a.m. EDT (0923 GMT) and 7:09 a.m. EDT (1109 GMT).

Let’s hope that SpaceX engineers fix this Helium leakage and send the crew to deep space to conduct the most distant spacewalk in human history as well as test the Starlink. As more updates come up, I will continue to inform you. So f0ll0w Future Worlds not to miss out.
