Interesting perspective. Ideological views tend to remain pretty consistent over time, but some views that a person holds can change throughout their lives as people are exposed to new environments or they become more educated. I am all for students learning about opposing viewpoints, and having students read pieces that don’t follow their ideological views is something I would encourage them to do. It is ok if students do change their minds on views. My point is that no matter what their party or view, no everyone will agree, and that isn’t a bad thing, and student should respect those who hold different views.
