Jarrod, speaking of updating the economic system…..I am wondering if the monetary system is viable at all anymore. I thought it was created at a time where resource scarcity was the norm, centuries ago.

So in a post scarcity society (due to innovations like 3D printing and such) where would money have any function?

If anything will be produced anywhere by anyone, resulting in the democratization of power you mentioned in your other articles, then money could no longer be used as an instrument of power (as power hierarchies are eliminated in favor of distributed power). And if that does happen then basic income wouldn’t have much use. That’s my two cents on it anyway.
