You probably heard about the immutable ledger before. You heard about a decentralized system that gets rid of intermediaries, and it puts power back into your hands. Heck, you probably heard Bitcoin is the fiat killer, the USD killer. It is the central bank killer even, and that banks are going to be all out of jobs soon. Lol. You’ve probably heard it all. But, I want to remind people Bitcoin is not a weapon to kill. Satoshi created Bitcoin to better our lives, to solve fundamental problems in our society. Bitcoin is for all including the central banks and governments. We are not creating Bitcoin to be a weapon. Please keep that in mind. So, back to why do we fight for Bitcoin? Why is it that we want it? What is it that made a lot of people having an aha… light bulb moment? We fight for Bitcoin because it is a system that makes honest of men. It is that simple, yet it is very powerful. I’ll explain a bit on what I mean.
We have probably more than 5000 years of recorded history. We have advanced from tribal warfare, to civilized world. But, after so much time have passed, we face the same problems is that of moral issues due to the natures of men. We are by nature sinners. That’s not to argue about the bible, but the fact that we are capable of sins. That’s a wide area to cover; however, we will look at a particular sin, and that’s dishonesty. We are dishonest for many reasons. Some selfish, some arguably out of necessity. But, the point is all of the crimes in our world, the corruptions of our government, they were all born out of dishonesty. Whether we lie about accounting books, secretly spreading government funding to personal benefits, or to commit a crime, we are being dishonest. Bitcoin solves this fundamental issues of our society! How so you might ask?
The innovation in Bitcoin was that it utilizes a decentralized network to prevent central control, that in turn creates an immutable ledger that can be used to record information or history of all that occurred on Bitcoin. It is pseudonym which offers privacy since you can’t see personal data only that a transaction happened between some addresses. But, it is traceable where a transaction can be linked to machines or individuals. Everyone can be held accountable when the law requires it. It is exactly due to this immutable and traceable nature; it is a system that promotes honesty. Because, everyone will think twice before using Bitcoin to commit any crimes which leaves a chain of digital signatures, their signatures forever that can’t be deleted. This is the reason why we want Bitcoin. We want our governments to run on it; not only that, we want our society to run on it because then we eliminate dishonesty or at least deter people from being dishonest where they can be caught. The sole reason why we commit crime, was because we want to be able to get away with it. Bitcoin stops that because you can’t delete evidence after you do something. One must face consequences. This is the power of blockchain. Some might argue it is a critical step to the next stage of human evolution where a world made honest. Benefits are great because the world will be more efficient when less resources are wasted due to dishonesty.
As you can see, this is something that can fundamentally change our society for the better. There are many other benefits, but this is single most important innovation. Bitcoin does not stop wars, it does not stop crimes, or stop dishonesty. But, Bitcoin makes sure that you could see the cost of wars, trace the crimes and the sins of men. This is why we fight for Bitcoin.
