Dawn of Smart Contact Book | Outdated Contacts what’s that?
Before I start with what future of contacts would be like, Let me pose some questions for all of us.
- How many outdated contacts do we have in your contact book?
- Don’t we all have a friend who keeps changing his/her phone number and now we are left with 4–5 numbers and yet not sure which one works.
- Or let’s say we need an electrician/plumber/tutor, where to start looking for them? Wouldn’t it be easier if we could call someone from our vicinity and get things done?
We can go on and on about how frustrating sometimes our traditional contact books can be.

In the past 2 decades, we have seen unprecedented technological advancements and if I take an example of just mobile technology. We have come from Antenna Phones, Feature Phones, Slider Phones, Touch-Screen Phones to SmartPhones now.
But the one thing that hasn’t seen a similar advancement is the way we still save and manage our contacts. We are still essentially doing what we used to do 15 years back.

For all the above problems It would be unfair to point with whom the problem lies exactly, with Users? or with existing tech products?
- But one thing is clear, it’s not easy for all the users to understand the technicality of cloud back up or update contacts on google or similar platforms like JustDial, YellowPages etc.
- Majority of the small and medium-size businesses don’t even have those privileges of being on these digital platforms. It could be because of technical challenges or simply they don’t find these platforms effective enough.
