In Corpse Bride, Emily’s story is a tragic one filled with betrayal, unrequited love, and murder, but despite it all, she remains kind. Aside from being a great character, her dress and appearance in the movie are unique to her and hauntingly beautiful. If you think so too, here’s how to be Emily the Corpse Bride for Halloween.

Emily the Corpse Bride / Corpse Bride

In the movie, Emily wears a wedding dress with a slit down the middle and a white sweetheart-neck Victorian bodice with pale blue flowers bordering the top and bottom. She pairs this with light blue stockings and white pumps. Finally, she wears a long veil with floral arrangements on her head.

To recreate the ensemble, Amazon has Victorian bodices, floor-length skirts, and veils that look similar to Emily’s (but with no blue flowers). For the flowers on the top of the veil, check out a local store like Joann for fake blue flowers to add to the top of the headdress. Additionally, if you want the floral element of the bodice, Joann’s fake turquoise Hydrangea bush has flowers that would match the outfit well. While you’re there, you can also find blue flowers for Emily’s wedding bouquet.

As for the makeup, you can choose to tweak steps depending on how committed you are to the costume. In the movie, Emily has light blue skin, smokey blue eyeshadow, and light pink lips. If you wish to commit you can easily find blue body paint in Halloween stores, however, you can choose not to, and in keeping the rest of the elements the same, the costume should remain recognizable.

Finally, for hair, you can either spray paint your hair for Halloween or buy a blue wig at your local Party City of Spirit Halloween.

I hope this helped in your search for a Halloween costume. Thank you for reading!
