Day: 25 For An Iconic And Bold Costume, Here’s How to Be The Once-ler from The Lorax This Halloween
Since watching The Lorax when it first came out in 2012, the Once-ler’s green outfit in the movie has stood out to me as a bold choice for a “villain”, but nonetheless a fashionable one. The Once-ler’s look was so unique that even ten years later, you still get some mentions of it on TikTok. So, for a fun and bold Halloween costume, here’s how to be the Once-ler this Halloween.
The outfit I’m talking about from the movie is obviously the green suit the Once-ler wears in the song “How Bad Can I Be?” and through the rest of the movie. To achieve this look, you need dark grey dress pants, black dress shoes or boots, a white dress shirt, a green tailcoat, a green and black tie, and a black top hat.
You may already have the grey suit pants and the white dress shirt at home, but if not, you may be able to find them in stores. If you happen to have black dress pants instead, you can also wear them as an alternative to grey pants.
For the tailcoat, Amazon has some green tailcoats that are very similar to the Once-ler’s coat, and they have fairly cheap options. Along with this, the green and black tie can also be found on Amazon if you cannot find it in stores. Lastly, you may be able to find the black top hat in Halloween stores or on Amazon as well.
Bonus accessory: In “How Bad Can I Be?” the Once-ler wears round sunglasses and while they are optional for the look, they may make the costume more fun to wear!
