There is quite a bit I agree with in your assessment. I do wonder why it is we cannot look at engaging the Congregation of Wealth, the cloistered few in their unholy monastery of money, to start distributing that wealth in equitable fashions? In “we”, I mean the People. I do not understand why we allow government inaction to validate all inaction. Why is it that there has been little to no interest in creating marketable value in poverty reform? At least, I’ve seen very little in this realm of thinking. It is as though the socialists have hogged the creative energies of those who would seek to engage in the practice.
I’ve wondered about trying to use an investment vehicle, similar to a REIT in the fashion of GEO Group Inc., to look at trying to fund the buying of unoccupied buildings for use as free housing with the idea of commoditizing data and using direct marketing to generate the revenue (similar to many social media start ups). That revenue could then go to paying for a staff, which could be the very people living in these buildings, a small minimum wage to initiate social programs and child care within the communities of these buildings.
I figure a small minimum wage isn’t as big of a problem if housing is being provided free. You could attract investors with equity, and as the value of this enterprise grew, the equity value would increase. It would provide a win/win for everyone. It would be like GEO Group, Inc. (except profiting on bettering lives, not imprisoning them).
I honestly believe Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and Hillary Clinton are the closest grouping to a cohesive “party” that exists in this election cycle. On the fringes you have various ideologies in Bernie Sanders (fiscal and social liberal), Rand Paul (fiscal conservative, social liberal), Ted Cruz (Conservative), and Trump (Insane Fascist). I would be very interested in debates between Sanders and Paul. They have the most intellectually thought-out platforms. The mainstreamers’ platforms seem to be patchwork constructs of whatever is trending in polling.
