Feeling too insecure to write?

Well don’t.

It is said that “History is impossible without the written word” and so is your journey through it. Writing helped preserve nations and exchange knowledge from one era to another. It helped humanity evolve, and the generations take after each other. So why wouldn’t it do the same to you?

Write down whatever comes to your mind. The words you were afraid to say out loud. The feelings you failed to express. The thoughts you were so scared they will get judged. The secrets you can’t share. Even the daily routine you are trying hard to adapt. Write down the books you want to read, the movies you want to watch, and the places you want to visit. Write down your workout plan and your food diet. Write down everything and anything. They say everything is easier said than done, but the truth is, it is a lot easier written than said.

Your written words will be the mirror that projects your mind and the motivator that pushes you forward. And when you go off the trail and want to give it all up, they will remind you of how strong and perseverant you are. They will be your everyday guide and forever watcher.

Writing has its magical power to transform dreams into reality, goals into habits, and stories into history. And this power will reach you only when you confide in your papers.

Imagine the sheer joy you will feel when you cross off a goal you set two years ago or the immense fulfillment you will know when you check off a task you have been procrastinating about since forever.

Papers give you permission to be human again. A human with boundless enthusiasm and great sadness. A human with a tender heart and tough mind. A human with a genuine smile and warm tears. They allow you to take a break from the perfectionism of life and manifest every inch of human in you, to slow down your busy mind flooded with thoughts to ponder and decisions to make, to pause, and look around you to cherish what you’ve accomplished so far and drive you to accomplish more.

We live in a futile world of constant consumerism that we often forget how we are capable of producing our own content, highlighting our happiest times and creating our own stories. Why is it writing what goes on our minds on a Facebook post seems way easier than writing it down in our journal? Why is it posting a picture of a happy moment on Instagram seems way easier than talking about it in our journal? Is it because we thrive on getting attention more than giving it? Or because we have faith in people more than in ourselves? The thing we often forget here is that the ultimate path to creativity is giving attention to our minds, and the ideal way to peace is listening to our souls. The post will vanish. The story will be removed. Your words will remain. Forever.

What if I give you now a math problem to solve? Wouldn’t you reach first for a piece of paper to write down all the variables? What if I crossed you on the street and gave you, my contact? Wouldn’t your reflex be to note it on your phone or write it down on the back of a book? Well, your life has a lot more variables than the math problem and your problems are way more complex than it is. And believe me, there are a lot more things in life worth being remembered than my phone number.

If you ever feel too insecure to write, remember Anne Frank, the 13 years old girl who entered history with her everyday journal. Did she ever think that someone would give a heck about what time she woke up today or what she ate for dinner last night? Did she ever think someone would care about her feelings and beliefs? I don’t think so. And yet she marked history and inspired the world.

If you don’t know where to start, just write. With no expectation to meet or a rule to obey, the blank pages will get filled with magic in no time.

If you don’t know how to start, set a whole mood for it. Light up your scented candles. Put on your inspiring melody. Pour your favorite drink. Be your date. And make the night all about you and your pages. In no time, your blank pages will get filled with magic. Cause no deep talk ever would give you the joy and the peace of mind that self-talk.

So, if you ever feel too insecure to write, just write! Whatever. Whenever. Wherever.

Because everyone is a writer, a writer of his own history.

Everyone is a creator, a creator of his own path.

END.
