Hello, Welcome! 👋

Week 2 of being properly back on weeknotes & as usual I am realising that my week gets quite busy towards the end of the week. I have noticed more and more people doing fortnightly or even month notes. It might come to this, but at the moment I am still trying to build some form of weekly reflection in — usually taking weekly notes and typing my weeknotes up the following Monday! This is late again, but I am still enjoying the process of reflection.

This week is a quick reflection, because I haven’t had loads of time to reflect.

If you want to catch up on previous weeks start over here. If this is your first time reading my weeknotes, welcome! If not thanks for coming back.

Design Projects 📌

Future Experiences 🚨

My first of two projects in my final year at the GSA kicked off this week. Future Experiences is a project focused on Health, Wellbeing and Care in 2031 with a life-centred, symbiotic lens!

We kicked off the project researching and developing STEEEPECS cards — a way of looking into the future and thinking about potential insights into what 2031 would look like. It’s a good way to build a relationship between future ideas and realistic insights so you don’t end up with a future world that is too unrealistic.

Each STEEEPECS card is categorised into Social, Tech, Educational, Ethical, Ecological, Political, Cultural and Symbiotic.

We also attended a workshop around unintended consequences with Studio Andthen — looking at the ripple effects of things we might design or predict for the future. 🚰

Our ripples from 1st or to 3rd Order

Bloomberg

My Bloomberg work has been continuing on from last week, developing the prototype case studies using Miro. Collecting all the work we have done, feedback, retrospectives and pulling it together in an easy to convey format.

There’s been a lot of teamwork to pull all our work together!

Other Projects 💻

More pottery — and developing a form for milk jugs. I have been creating a few different shapes and prototypes!

Loving the form of this one

That’s me this week!
