This week I am going to take each day as they come. I can not really plan out my week because I just need to get back to running consistent mileage. This is a big week for me. Running each day would be a great first step to getting in shape quickly. Hope you all enjoy this weeks blog!

MONDAY

6:39 A.M. 3 Miles in 21:50

Today there was a ton of lightening in the area so we ran our run inside. I felt really good! The least amount of pain I have felt in a week. Hoping to continue this upward trend this week. Going to cross train this afternoon and I will get after it tomorrow.

TUESDAY

6:09 A.M.

1 Mile Warm up 4x1000 1 Mile Cool down

Today I am very happy with how the workout went. First of all I had no idea that I was going to be doing part of the workout. I went 4 by 1000 meters with 90 second rest in between the reps. I also did them at a slower pace than what I am used to. But I got the reps in and it was a bit faster than an easy run pace. And I was super encouraged by how everyone else ran! Hoping to have another good day tomorrow!

WEDNESDAY

3:51 P.M.

5 Miles in 34:16 (Steady miles of 6:23 and 6:18)

Today was VERY encouraging. I feel as though that I am back in business. I don’t want to get to ahead of myself but the way I felt on those two miles is any testiment to my fitness I know that I could do some big things for the Rams this year! The run was really, really rainy so that made it a lot of fun. I felt very smooth on the two steady miles and hopefully I can continue this upward trend in fitness! See y’all tomorrow

THURSDAY

6:28 A.M. 6 Miles in 44:18

Another awesome run with some awesome people. First bit was super controlled and chill. I am so happy that I am getting back at this whole running thing. Going into this week I really had no idea what kind of shape I was in. I am glad that I did not lose much fitness and now I have some time before pre-regionals and pre-nationals to build an aerobic base so I can help the team!

FRIDAY

6:11 A.M.

1.5 Mile Warm Up, 4 Mile Tempo, 1.5 Mile Cool Down

What a morning! Everyone was at practice today for one of the most challenging workouts of the year. But boy, was it tough. I think in my year of being here that was the hardest tempo I have ever done for Dan, our coach. The pace wasn’t the fastest that I have done. But we went out to the country and ran the tempo on ‘Big Dipper’ which is a big square right outside town of country roads. And the first mile was pretty hilly. But I ran with an awesome group of guys (Matt, Evan, Henry, Landon, Aaron, and Coach) and we all stayed togheter. From listening in on other groups conversations it seems like the workout went pretty well for everyone! And that is super exciting, now we follow it up with a long run tomorrow at Solon! I am going to go eight miles but I am starting to get back in shape and healthy. I am taking things day by day so today is a huge step forward and I hope I make another one tomorrow.

SATURDAY

9:05 A.M. 8 Miles in 57:07

Today was a good ‘long run’ for me. If you know my running at all usually I run 12 for long runs, but I am still coming back from my injury. So today was the longest I had ran in a couple weeks. The first half of the run was very chill and controlled. I ran with the group and we talked about the Spaceforce which was hilarious. But then I turned around with my teammate David at the 4 mile mark and pushed him a bit. I love running at Solon because you can see Lake MacBride for a good portion of the run and today was no exception to that.

Overall this week was a nice rebound week and I hope I can get to 50 miles next week so I can start building a base for conference! Thanks for reading y’all :)
