Patience, why so underrated?

Oh, boy. Patience. Who likes to wait? Waiting for the train on a cold New York City morning. Waiting on the phone while you’re connected with customer service “a representative will be with you shortly..” *eye role*.

I’ve been hearing “patience is a virtue” my entire life. But, like so many clichés you don’t ever really stop to give them much thought.

That is, until you do.

When it comes to success, we all want the results. We’re even willing to put in the hard work. But, we often find ourselves retreating when it comes to being patient and giving things time.

We want to reap the benefits as soon as the seed is planted, but fail to see that days, months, even years need to go by before we get a glimpse of them.

Results require time, and time requires patience.

How can I be more patient, you may ask.

From experience, I’ve found that being crystal clear on these three things works wonders, and can even make the road to success one of enlightenment.

  1. Clear goals that serve as the light at the end of the tunnel — making sure you stay on track and don’t lose focus.
  2. Confidence in yourself, knowing that you have what it takes to achieve those goals.
  3. Gratitud for where you are in this very moment and appreciation for how far you’ve already come.

Now, I’d love to hear from you. When has being patient paid off and gotten you the results you were looking for?

Till next Wednesday my friend.

xx Gabi
