The short answer: yes.

Why?

Education. The main reason is that college educates you. How exactly? There are so many things. For example it is a good exercise of presenting. There are other examples but is not the point of this article, and however showed a decent level of interest when she/he was in school she/he should understand by now this point. Besides, going to college is way much better rather than staying home or going to a lousy job just to call that you earn some money.

Extra paycheck. If you have a diploma you will likely get an extra bonus to your paycheck. Unless you are a very eccentric person, this point should weight a lot. In addition, some laws, depending on your geography, demands a diploma in order to hire you.

One of the first requirements on the job adds. I am not sure if other people saw this, but more and more job adds are requiring diploma. Plenty of them are even specifying master degree as preferred qualification; not (yet) mandatory tough. So the statement that your diploma is an alternative to toilet paper is no longer valid.

You will end up in a need of a diploma. Apart from the reasons above, you may also want to evolve to other roles such as management. It does happen at some point in your career. At least that why I believe that some of my college colleagues were above 30. Oh, and now some of my co-workers go to college which, if you ask me, it’s pretty weird. You know what they say … “make hay while the sun shines”. I mean c’mon, don’t tell me that I am not politically correct! Good luck going 40 hrs per week as a senior, take care of your family, and on top of that go to college where teachers might be younger than you. It’s simply award!

I can’t think of any arguments of why you wouldn’t need a diploma, but you are free to do whatever you feel that suits you.
