Drift Allstars Estonia — 29–30/07/16

The seat of “the Machine”

Due to some very good and some very bad luck with my schedule that weekend I am going to give you an alternative overview of the event. As I always try to see things from the positive side then this “luck” gave me a chance to focus, maybe for the first time ever, on what is happening off the track in pits and also try to give an answer to a question — why do I love drift so much? What makes drift so special?

As said, there won´t be any photos from the actual battles but rather a special and maybe even perhaps rare insight into the “backstage” or “behind the curtains” of one Drift Allstars weekend instead that took place at LaitseRallypark about 30 min drive from the capital of Estonia, Tallinn.

But back to the question — why drift?

It is one of the few motorsports where you can still see drivers working on their cars before the race and they are not afraid to get their hands dirty.

They are there not only to sit behind the wheel and bring in good results but they are there to spend time doing what they love.

Fredrik Oksnevad aka FREDOX

Some of them said — it is like spending really good time with your friends while traveling and competing on different very awesome tracks all over the world. It is much more than a sport, it is an entire lifestyle.

It is also one of the few motorsports where passion, hard work and team spirit still beats huge corporations in this money-controlled world.

Drift is authentic and close to people. Drift is saying and proving that when you are fueled by real passion then nothing is impossible.

These were only some of the reasons to love drift. The list could go on and on, and on, and on…
