KDD paper-123 preview: Dynamics of Large Multi-View Social Networks: Synergy, Cannibalization and Cross-View Interplay

Social network services often allow users to interact using different communication methods such as via newsfeeds and messages. Each of these different methods can be represented as individual interaction networks. This paper proposes approaches to capture and analyze the dynamics of a “multi-view” network, and evaluated on LinkedIn data. They, for example, develop models that consider that synergy and cannibalization between different user groups, and reveal how these new models deliver higher predictive capabilities than previous models.
