I would add: “become fluent at least in one business”.

What’s the usefulness of having millions of developers eviscerating the intricacies of modern programming if they don’t understand the simple mechanics of the businesses they are called to digitalize?

I hear too often: “Give me just the requirements, I don’t mind but coding”, even from consultants.

Perhaps in ten years time we might have AI doing just “coding”, it’s time we raise awareness that business knowledge, as a whole, is an upskill for a developer.
