4 Months into Full-time Freelancing, Here’s One Sentence to Summarise It All

Day 121/365: How to freelance more and better?

You’re probably reading this because you’re just starting out in the freelancing world and wondering how do people make it.

Been there.

Don’t worry if you’re one breath away from a panic attack. Been there also. And then some. But bear with me, as I’m going to try and summarise the past 4 months of my life, basically the first quarter of 2018 in one, simple sentence. Freelancing is great, but only if you are good at what you do and are ok with being prone to disaster from time to time.

How were these 4 months of full-time freelancing for me? Good. Actually, great. I’m not going to go into many details, as that’s for another article, but to summarise, you only have to keep one sentence in mind:

“Things do get better with time”

The rates will increase. The good clients will eventually contact you. The platforms will make you stand out more. You will get a knack for time management, regardless if you’re using one of those fancy noting apps or a notebook and a pen you got at the British Museum. The pay will get higher, the motivation will follow.

You will finally get the laptop you wanted, the trip to London where you’ll see Aladdin and the savings account you’ve always dreamed of. And those will be all on you, which is the best part if you ask me.

No family help, no loans, no friendly interventions, and no bosses to get yelled by. You and only you will be responsible for your success, or failure.

Thank you for your time!
