Budapest or Brno?

Day 116/365: Where would you live for a week?

I’m tired of the routine.

“But dude, you’re a freelancer, you don’t have a routine!”

Yes, I do, and it’s getting to me. I’m doing freelance in a professional matter, not as a side gig, so I’m just like any office worker, but with a twist every day. I wake up, have breakfast and then write for 4 hours. Every day, for the last three and a half months, on the same subjects, at the same desk, in the same city. With a short trip to London.

I’m not bothered by the fact that the subjects are the same. I write for the same 3 clients, which is very good if you’re a freelancer. Having 3 big clients that you can rely on is bliss, very reassuring and very motivating. I’m rather bothered by the fact that the scenery is the same.

Which is why I decided to take a freelancing trip this May. I’m going to take the train to one of the two cities in the title. Why? Because they’re 7 and 10 hours away from me by train. I’m usually pretty good at choosing my next destination when it comes to trips, but this is different.

For 7 days, I’ll be living in rather Budapest, the wonderful capital of Hungary or Brno, the second-largest city in the Czech Republic. I’m torn between the two, but I have to choose just one and make ends meet for one week. That’s the mission, and that’s what I’m about to do.

UPDATE: It’s Budapest.

If you were to live in Budapest or Brno for a week, where would you go, and why?
