Fast Sundays 10: My 101 Favourite Things, Part 1: pets, cars, foods and drinks
Day 70/365: What are my absoulte favourites in various domains
Fast Sundays: Every Sunday, I write a 300 words post on different topics of interest, after starring at the blank laptop screen for 3 minutes. Whatever pops into my mind at the end of the 3 minutes mark, that’s what I’ll scribble below.
A.S.: Starting from Sunday, March 11th, I’m taking a Spring vacation from work and from blogging. This doesn’t mean the 365 days writing challenge is over, but I’ll sort of cheat and still come up with one article per day until Saturday, March 17th, when I’ll be back home. Here’s what I came up with for these next 7 days!
Talking to you guys is one of the best things about this blog. I don’t yet have a big community around it, but the few of you that read and comment around here are great people and I’m glad of having you around.
As for the month of March, as we all agreed to give the blog a “favourites” overall, but not strict topic, I decided to give this Fast Sundays, and the following 6 days of the next week, up for this topic alone.
I’ll do it in batches of 15 questions per day, totalling 105 questions at the end of the week. Without further to do, here are my favourite books, movies, foods and everything else that I thought might be interesting for you to know:
- Favorite pet I ever had?
A German Shepherd named Obama, he’s still alive and very loved.
2. Favorite car I’ve owned?
Opel Astra, 2007 model, amazing car.
3. Favorite meal out, ever?
The pasta dish I ate in Rome at Elletra, best night out ever!
4. Favorite food I’ve cooked?
Zuppa di gamberi, which translates to shrimp soup, which I’m nailing every time I make it!
5. Favorite food from childhood?
This is a hard one… ok, I’ll go with chips with salami. There’s a reason I was fat for most of my childhood…
6. Favorite drink on a hot summer day (include event)?
Something that involves coconut flavour, coconut water, coconut syrup, something like that.
7. Favorite drink on a cold winter night (include event)?
Good quality hot chocolate, dark, no sugar.
8. Favorite conversation I’ve ever had with a person?
It was years ago, with a person I was interviewing. I can’t remember who it was, but the topic was my job and it made me realise I was basically losing my time with what I was doing. Thank you!
9. Favorite total meal that I cook (list all items)?
Shrimp soup and toast.
10. Favorite movie of all time?
Angels and Demons, the best movie ever made!
11. Favorite book of all time?
Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, a marvelous description of life and everything else by a normal guy who reaches Heaven and Hell on Earth.
12. Teacher who changed my life, and why?
I can honestly say no teacher ever had a life-changing influence on me.
13. Professional mentor who changed my life, and why?
My last boss taught me a lot about writing, but also about how you do life in general. I am deeply grateful for that.
14. Favorite item to go shopping for with a girlfriend?
I don’t have a girlfriend, and I can’t remember shopping being a fun thing to do from when I had one.
15. Perfect day out: what, where, with whom?
Travelling, Rome, alone or with a friend at most.
This whole marathon was really like an “Oracle” to me, a game we used to play years ago in which we’d have to answer questions in someone else’s notebook on different topics, much like the article above.
Feel free to answer 2 or 3 or more questions from the list above about yourself, in the comments below.
Thank you for your time!
