Finding Good Reads Is Nearly Impossible

Day 151/365: There might be a sollution for it!

If you’re a book consumer like me, chances are you’re depressed at least once a month because you can’t find a new good book to read. Here comes that day of the month when you have to move along to a new book. All is well, but you soon realise the 3 books you just bought are mediocre at best and have little to do with their synopses.

You go online and after reading tons of reviews, you buy three new books. When did books become more expensive than flights? Anyways, you start a new book and, halfway through it, realise it’s complete bonkers. You can’t finish it and now those Amazon comments just seem like a joke to you.

How can I, the end consumer of books, find my way to great reads in a market dominated by paid reviews, advertisement and superficial synopses?

The answer might just be Booker. If you remember, I told you about this new platform a while back, when the service was still in beta. Fortunately, as I was expecting from the team, they pushed through with it and yesterday, they sent out the press release for the launch of the platform.

Booker is a book discovery platform co-founded by Dr. Adrienne Matheson, a clinical psychologist focused on children and families. After years of clients continuously asking for book recommendations, Adrienne built Booker to help the world find & share meaningful books curated by people we trust.

1. Problem
Book discovery is broken. It’s too hard to find relevant, and meaningful books, and it’s too hard to trust ads, book reviews, and top 10 lists. Today, online options like Goodreads lack the discovery experience expected in 2018, and most people lack effective strategies to find their next book, and ultimately end up relying on recommendations from people they trust. Tech can help scale this experience to expand a person’s network of influence and improve the quality and diversity of recommendations.

2. Solution
Booker has reimagined the way books are discovered. The platform leverages social networks to connect users to the people they trust the most. This could be Facebook friends, celebrities, colleagues, leaders, and so on, and their 9 must-read books. Decisions are simplified and users can easily curate a lifetime collection of interesting, relevant, and useful books. Booker is a mission driven social enterprise — it’s free & simple to use.

3. Mission
Booker’s mission is to build the world’s largest book discovery platform to help people find meaningful books, and help generations of readers share ideas, knowledge, perspectives, and values that matter most. We value lifelong learning & reading.

Booker is the book discovery platform for everyone, a trusted source for the best books ever written, recommended by the people you trust, cherish, and love. You can follow me on my Booker here!
