Happy? Sad? Changing.

I was having a rough time with a client the other day. He was supposed to rate my work on the freelance site that I'm working on, and although I did a hell of a good job for him, he refused to give me the maximum of 5 stars, rating my delivered work with only 4 stars.

For a guy who looks after his online reputation vigurously, especially when it comes to my work, I was as furious as you can get on a Friday evening. But then my friend called, informing me that there's a huge house party at his place later in the night, with wine, board games and music.

And some more booze, of course!

If you were to ask me how'd I felt at that exact moment, between the fight with my Indian client and the call from my friend, at that Moment 0 between feeling like crap and feeling amazing, what would be the proper answer for me to give you?

Dramatic music starts...

I wasn’t feeling happy, because I just recieved a bad grade from a client that hardly speaks any English, for my English writing skills, but I wasn’t feeling sad eighter, as I just got news about the awesome party.

In that very moment, I was literally changing feelings. I was feeling both emotions, but none of them at the same time. I was geniuenly changing.

If you look at the big picture, life is always changing around us. We change, our mentalities change, our friends change, relationships change, our jobs change, everything changes, each and every second, and there’s nothing we can do about it, but accept it. Fight change, and you’ll end up feeling miserable. Accept change, and life will take its normal course.

Think about how many times a day does you mood change. This minute you're happy about your work, everything is great, and the next minute all you want to do is smash the laptop against the wall and leave the country forever. We are so caught up in our emotions, we rarely notice these everpresent changes, which are actually life itself, happening, unfolding, being.

Change is normal, so accept it. Just don’t let change change you…
