2018 Was The Best Travelling Year Ever

Day 299/365: I travelled to Ancient worlds, modern metropolis and fairytales

2018 has been a productive year. I can’t think of a better year than 2018. I want to take a picture of 2018 and frame it, and then hang it beside my couch. I loved everything about this year. The good, productive parts. The bad, relentlessly anxious parts. They have taught me so much!

I loved the fact that I travelled a lot this year. I am an addict when it comes to travel. I’d rather have a 3-day trip to somewhere than eating out for a month if that’s what it takes for me to save up for the plane and accommodation.

Travelling for me is the nominal point after which everything is measured. I had a good week? Well, how many days were spent on a train or in a different city? None? That’s not a good week. Two? That’s fine. Five? That’s a great week! It’s all about travelling with me.

I got to see Aladdin at the West End this year.

I then travelled for a week in prosecco country in Italy, and not only that, but I got to see Venice one more time. I then travelled for two weeks to Bavaria, saw Munich and its Marienplatz, the zoo and Dachau, and even got to Switzerland to see Rheinfall.

I then travelled to Budapest with my dad, missed my train and had an incredible deer stew.

Then it was off to Egypt and Hurghada, where I’d watch the sunrise over the Red Sea every day. Then I went to Cairo.

I’ve seen the goddamn pyramids in 2018!

Whatever anyone might say, this year has been amazing. And the fact that I have three more trips planned and paid for is nothing but motivation.

The motivation for me to be more organised, to deliver even better work, to keep my clients close and to get more and more trips.

Yes, I’m spending my money on trips. It’s the best way in the world you can spend your money in. Trust me, I’m a traveller, I know!
