My 101 Favourite Things, Part 2: artists, songs, hobbies and skills

Day 71/365: What are my absoulte favourites in various domains

A.S.: Starting from Sunday, March 11th, I’m taking a Spring vacation from work and from blogging. This doesn’t mean the 365 days writing challenge is over, but I’ll sort of cheat and still come up with one article per day until Saturday, March 17th, when I’ll be back home. Here’s what I came up with for these next 7 days!

Talking to you guys is one of the best things about this blog. I don’t yet have a big community around it, but the few of you that read and comment around here are great people and I’m glad of having you around.

As for the month of March, as we all agreed to give the blog a “favourites” overall, but not strict topic, I decided to give this Fast Sundays, and the following 6 days of the next week, up for this topic alone.

I’ll do it in batches of 15 questions per day, totalling 105 questions at the end of the week. Without further to do, here are my favourite books, movies, foods and everything else that I thought might be interesting for you to know:

16. Favorite color?

Black.

17. Favorite artist?

Pieter Bruegel the Elder with his painting “Hunters in the snow”, which I can see above my office, every time I need a minute off from work.

18. Favorite song?

Mattafix — Big City Life, has been and still is my favourite song since the first time I heard it when I was 10, at a local internet cafe.

19. The best paid entertainment I’ve ever seen?

Eddie Griffin — Livin’ Legend Comedy Tour in Bucharest, best $40 I have ever spent in my entire life.

20. Favorite hobby activity that makes me get lost for hours?

Planning my next travels.

21. Most rewarding time I’ve ever spent volunteering?

A few years ago when I was an active member of the local Rotaract Club. I got to help the community and also travel around the country and the continent and meet more than a handful of amazing people.

22. The most exciting secret I’ve ever been told?

My printer can also scan documents and then copy them.

23. My greatest skill (past or current)?

Writing.

24. The best advice I’ve ever been given?

When you think about people that judge you, think about how little time you spent judging other people and what difference does it make. When you reach the conclusion that what the people think about you has zero importance, that’s when you’ll find freedom.

25. The best advice I’ve ever given?

Patience, a virtue for those who master it, a curse for those who don’t.

26. The best birthday I ever had and why?

My 18th birthday, I got drunk 2 hours before my guests arrived and then at about 11 PM I tripped and fell right into a plate of food at the buffet.

27. The coolest natural wonder I’ve ever seen?

The Matka Canyon near Skopje, Macedonia. Mesmerising.

28. The most fun road trip I’ve ever taken, where and with whom?

From my hometown to Greece via Macedonia, with 3 of my best friends.

29. The closest call I’ve ever had?

On my second flight ever to Bucharest, I was certain that was it. Turns out me being “certain” is relative!

30. My favorite flower, purchased?

A cactus.

This whole marathon was really like an “Oracle”, a game we used to play years ago in which we’d have to answer questions in someone else’s notebook on different topics, much like the article above. Feel free to answer 2 or 3 or more questions from the list above about yourself, in the comments below.

Thank you for your time!
