On Being The Weird One

Day 275/365: Here’s what you need to know about this

If you are the weird one of your group, listen up.

I used to be like you. I still am and I’ll always be that way. There’s no way in hell I’m changing just because people say I have to. It’s not in my power to change that part of me that makes me different or weird.

What is “weird” anyway?

What’s weird to me, like eating tomatoes with the skin on, might be something you’re not bothered about. Being weird is only how others perceive you. You are just you, a little dark and brown and green and yellow and blue matter on some steroids.

You can’t be weird yourself because you’d probably notice it and start changing your ways. You being weird is something other people tell you about yourself. It’s their problem that they can’t accept you the way you are. Leave those people alone and just continue being you.

You are part of a group and, even if you’re the weird one, you are still surrounded by people that accept you the way you are. That’s where you want to be, a weird amongst weirds.
