On Minding Your Own Business

Day 272/365: My rule is strict, but works every time!

People say they hate it when others interfere or even talk about their own businesses. Yet, if they get the chance, they’re the first one who would do the same thing to their peers without even taking a second to act otherwise.

My rule is to never say anything about someone else’s affairs if I’m not invited to do so. If my friend never asks me for an advice, I’m not going to give it to him just because I can. If my parents are talking about something and I’m not invited to take part in that conversation, I’ll just leave them alone.

If my boss is firing another employee and I happen to know he’s wrong for doing so, who am I to go and give him directions? The ideal state of people would be for them to only mind somebody else’s business if and when they’re asked to do so.

I think life would be so much better for all of us if the world would work like that. Just think about it!
