Remembering The Terror Of 9/11

Day 254/365: It was a rainy day…

I’ll never forget the 11th of September from 2001. I was amazingly young. We just got our small, coloured TV and were watching some lame TV show. It just stopped raining and there was a blind guy with a child begging on the street.

The image on the TV just stopped and then, after a few seconds of frozen static, it turned into a live feed of an image of two big towers, one of them being surrounded by smoke. That’s how I started experiencing the attacks.

Everything turned into complete chaos in just a matter of minutes, especially after the second tower was hit. People talking about the beginning of the war, about millions of people dying and about the end of the world.

It was complete terror.

The world changed forever that day. News channels began having the crawls on their screens because there was so much information coming in minute by minute, the only way they could keep track of it was by simply write it on the screen. The idea of breaking news was also invented then.

Besides the changes in the media, the measures that were taken after 9/11 in transportation and everything else surrounding travel were life-changing for all of us. Tighter security checks, tighter passport controls and tighter Visa checks before allowing foreigners in the US.

Yet I still believe 9/11 was not just a terrorist incident. It had a too big of an impact to be just that. I don’t want to use big words, but there’s a fine line between a conspiracy theory and the truth.

The evidence is leaning against it being an inside job, but the evidence is presented by the same people controlling the media, the police force, the politics and everything else.

That makes it an untrustworthy source, unfortunately.
