The Hunger For Meaningless Facebook Likes is Destroying The New Generation

Day 173/365: I myself don’t see a solution in sight yet…

We’re living in the era of fast-paced dates, fast pizza delivery, minute-showers and fast everything. And yet, the brains of young people slow down and analyze every possible scenario when it does one simple, yet idiotic thing.

Looking at how many likes you’ve got on your post.

I don’t care if we’re talking Facebook, Instagram, Medium or any other platforms here. How come we’re ok with everything else that’s fast-pacing through our lives, but we’re anxiously waiting to see how many likes we get on our vacation pics or motivational quotes we post on our silly Facebook profiles?

You do understand that Facebook likes, as well as Instagram and any other likes you get, mean absolutely nothing, right? Don’t you? What the heck is wrong with your ass then?

Facebook likes are not making you any more popular than you are. Facebook likes are not paying your bills, are not putting food on your table and not paying for your school or gas. Facebook likes, regardless of how many you get, are not increasing your chances to make a good impression at your job interview. They can’t even be considered as a matter of discussion.

Because they’re useless.

Then why are still so many young people affected by the fact that they don’t get as many Facebook likes as they wished for? How can our society be so sick and mentally unstable that the only thing that will make their lives better is if they’d get 100 likes on a crappy selfie?

How did we get here? And how the hell are we going to get the new generation out of the Facebook brown hole they’re in right now?

Thank you for your time!
