the boyfriend line works because it means “go away or a man might come here and beat you. Will you take that risk?”.

When the girl says “Im not into guys” or something, “try hard” guys might still keep trying since there is virtually no threat of getting beat up by her while there is (even if very small) a chance of it actually working somehow (Ive seen it work a couple of times).

I thought about the issue of why men fear women less than women fear men a lot, because many guys are so weak or have such a slow reaction, and also humans are so good with tools, that the difference in physical strenght can’t really be the whole issue. For instance if everyone had firearms and carried them around, I still think women would fear men more than they fear women.

My conclusion is that men have less reason to worry about being beat up and hurt. The beauty of a guy is worth less than the beauty of a girl so if we get a scar on our face it is not as bad as if the girl gets the scar.

Also it is probable that men learn to value their lives less than girls value their own lives. I would even go as far as saying the lives of men are in fact worth less than the lives of women, even though that is brutal. But every single woman has a mother-value that cannot be replaced by another. The best woman, the rank 1 girl in the country, cannot have 2 babies at the same time from different guys, give them the necessary love and breastfeed them. So each girl has intrinsic value: the difference between the bottom female and the top female is not so great, they all have value.

But the rank 1 guy could father children in hundreds of women simultaneously, making even the rank 2 guy sort of unecessary (except for war). So the top dog, the best male around, he has a lot of value. But all the others — specially the bottom guys, who are just “potential rapists” threatening to occupy uteruses that would be better off occupied by top dogs- are trash. The difference between the bottom guy and the top guy is huge.

For that reason I can see fearlessness in males being useful (if bad males die that is “good” in some ways, but the death of a fertile female is always bad). I even think that is why societies that throw females in war dont survive: if the guy gets captured or dies, no big deal; but if the girl dies, that means a lot. And if she gets captured by the enemy, she becomes a breeder for the enemy and that is a disaster.
