Thank you, Kenneth. I think it is very simplistic of people to say “grow your own food” to people working 2–3 jobs. Tell that to my father who works as a cable contractor, out in the scorching heat of S. Florida from 6am until whenever his last job gets done, carrying heavy ladders all day. Tell that to my mom working two jobs, a 9pm to 2am shift at Amazon and a 9am to 5pm shift at tour center. I’m not opposed to growing your own food and eating “clean”, I would if I wasn’t a grad school student, living in an apartment, and if I the luxury of time and money to spend on doing this. But, lets not resort to simplistic, one-size fits all “solutions” to get poor people to eat clean or bring them food security. Everyone means well, of course, but we are not all facing the same situations to say “hey if it works for me, it works for you”.
