As a UX designer, I don’t have to deal with people assuming that I have a different job. However, in a company full of developers, I’m one of the few women who meet with clients. The night before my first client meeting, I received the generic “dress code” email telling me to wear a “button down and slacks, no jacket, no tie.” It was so clearly written with only men in mind, the sender apologized the next day!
