First Post

The original purpose of this blog was to serve as a medium (lul) for the six posts that are the main assigments of PublPol 101. An introductory course entitled “Politics and Public Policy,” this class is my entry into the world of Public Policy after almost two years spent on prerequisites (shoutout to Math 51), and I must say I’m excited to really get my feet wet in the core classes for the Public Policy major. This blog will certainly hold those six posts, and I look forward to analyzing topics such as federal minimum wage, health care, marijuana use, gun control, and more. But opening an account on this site has inspired me to write more as a way of understanding the changing world around me. The past two quarters have been full of ups and downs— from the dreaded sophomore slump and disillusionment regarding Stanford’s culture, to new friends and reinvigorated self-confidence. Here, then, I will record my thoughts and experiences as a student, a mentor, and a friend. Enjoy.
