I hear every word you are saying RM. Every time I see a title with resistance, revolution, or something about orange, I just turn around and walk the other way — well, mostly.;) That’s not to say there aren’t valid feelings and arguments out there about the direction we’re headed — it’s the language that automatically turns me off. (Similar to when I said I was a patriot, I suppose.) I am not blind to the fact that our nation has some pretty big problems — I just think they would be similar in flavor if Hilary had been elected. We have a people problem that has become a huge political problem and it extends well beyond our borders. I remind myself everyday to be the best me I can and spread it around a little, hoping to share gratitude and sunshine. (You can throw up now, if you want. haha!) I refuse to spend my time on this earth being bitter, confrontational, biased and petty. That seems to be the extent of my control.

Head in the sand? Maybe, but, I’m doing the best I can with what I’ve got. Running around like chicken little is not my modus operandi.

A long ways back I posted a mildly angry piece inspired by the rantings of a politically left-sided writer. I felt funny about it for days after and debated taking it down. I didn’t, but it left me knowing — that was not the best way for me to express myself. We all have to decide for ourselves how much heat we can take in the kitchen. :)

I am of the distinct impression RM, that if you can handle the comments, your poem would be welcomed by your readers. You speak from a place of empathy — seeing both sides, which is needed more than ever these days.

The other thing I try to remind myself of is that, if my readers do not know my soul by now, they never will. I’d say the same for you. Your words and thoughts are safe with me — always.
