I can’t read it.

I just read this — and I am paraphrasing. It kind of relates.

The novelist David Foster Wallace said:

It is only through the exercise of our curiosity about others that we can free ourselves from our hard-wired self-obsession. Not only is it virtuous to do so, but empathetic curiosity is also a way to free ourselves from boredom, routine and petty frustration.

An example would be to cast aside your frustration while driving or in a grocery store line by pondering the lives of those around you.

OK, so I guess that’s off topic, but it’s what came to mind. If I only think of myself, where does that lead us as a community?
