We are delighted to announce the successful conclusion of the Alpha Round 2 Test for GalaxyThrone! We sincerely appreciate all the player feedback and bug reports we’ve received, and want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in this round. The test round will officially close next Wednesday the 7th at 8 pm CET.

As a token of our appreciation, every participant will receive a cosmetic NFT, usable in all upcoming rounds and in the full game release. We are thrilled to confirm that prize pools will be distributed following the round’s closure.

We’re excited to announce that our next play round will commence on the 9th of July 2023! In preparation for this, we will be dedicating the upcoming weeks to address all bug reports and implement suggested features.

The Alpha Round 2 Test provided us with invaluable insights into combat and economy balance. We’ve already initiated hotfixes for a myriad of issues and made several crucial updates. Here are some notable ones:

New Combat Mechanics:

  • Introduction of a fleet size modifier, favoring smaller, specialized fleets over large quantities of ships.
  • Provision of underdog buffs for outmatched fleets.
  • Enhancement of innate planet defense.
  • Addition of more ship types and defense buildings.

Balance Fixes:

  • Acceleration of building craft speed for new players first ten buildings.
  • Reduction of the random component of battle outcomes.
  • Downgrades to module stats, weakness modifier, miner ships, and mining amounts.
  • Introduction of a mechanic for assigning more resources to a starter planet if its already mined out
  • Implementation of a cooldown mechanic preventing freshly customized ships from being dispatched for a set duration.

Bug Fixes:

  • Addressed a bug causing improper return of attack IDs to the frontend.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented miner ships from returning to their home planet once a planet depletes all its resources.
  • Resolved a bug causing incorrect planet type displays on the frontend.
  • Conducted numerous gas-efficiency patches.
  • Typos! :)

We’re extremely grateful for all the bug reports and feedback submitted, and we’re eager to share a few areas we’re focusing on for Round 3:

  • Better tooltips and a comprehensive UI tutorial.
  • Improvements to the Dashboard Page.
  • Addition of Battle Prediction Tools in the Attack UI.
  • Diplomacy
  • Enabling Asteroid Belts!
