I’ll rebut the title quote. But firstly the following:

“When it comes to these online currencies, they’re really all a bunch of funny numbers. There is nothing inherently valuable about them”

This is plainly wrong. They are inherently valuable due to the network backing them and allowing for transfer and ownership rights. The protocols can be copied (and without any difficulty as they are open source) however an instance is only as valuable as the underlying network.

Addressing the title, Bitcoin is a good store of value because the software is secure, the user base is large, it will be the beneficiary of network effects, it’s easy to move across borders and cannot be inflated by governments. The last point is of particular importance and cannot be understated.
