86. TOGETHER WITH PD AGAIN

All gung-hoe to attend the conference in Kyoto, I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised my heart began racing, my chest tightening and felt my lip tremble as I fought back tears on finding myself surrounded by the PD community. Still raw, just eight months…

Well, aren’t I the lucky one? And more importantly, what a heaven-sent opportunity to get the voices of us Caregivers heard.

My book based on the first eighteen months’ blogs, “The Perfect Servant-nope,” will be on display in their Book-nook and I have two slots at “meet and greet” sessions…

83. A DESPERATE CRY.

Carol’s heartbroken and brutally honest e-mail of last week says it for all of us who are at our wits end who don’t know how, nor want to keep on. Note I didn’t say feel but are.

A grief counselor explained I’d been grieving for years…

By flowers I mean joy, color and friends. How quickly flowers die if left un-watered. Friendships too.

Since my sweet husband flew this earth leaving me only memories of him for company, I wish…I wish…I see I should have struggled harder to escape our Parkinson’s jailer while he was alive…

Forget “Lincoln in the Bardo,” it’s me, a.k.a. David’s caregiver, floating somewhere halfway between living and not quite being alive.

Wallowing in a stupor without a purpose to my days, I seem to have lost my rudder now David is gone. I mean, who am I now without my darling…

Political Correctnesshas its rightful place of course. Ideals, race, religion, sexual orientation, and the myriad of life choices are everybody’s right in my opinion. But, and there’s always a but isn’t there, to euphemistically describe the sufferingimposed by such a cruel disease as Living well with Parkinson’s sends me nuts…

THE PERFECT SERVANT-nope

…perfect I can never be. WEARING A HAT FROM HELL, my husband’s caregiver, just 80, I am tired. My husband has Parkinson’s. He is tired too. www.galisteoliz.com
