Bringing a new era of graphics with the Unreal Engine 5

Announcing the launch of Unreal Engine 5 with a livestream on Twitch and YouTube. The announcement showcased the high-performance visuals and rendering capabilities of the engine. There have already been changes within the gaming industry with the newest engine.

There are multiple games, including the next Witcher release, Senuas’s Saga: Hellblade 2, and Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl. Players on the PlayStation 5 have already gotten a chance to experience the new Unreal Engine 5 with The Matrix Awakens. The gaming industry isn’t the only place we’ll see the latest engine appear, either.

Epic Games brings new tools to multiple industries

Over the last couple of years, the movie and television industry has begun to use the Unreal Engine. A great example of this use is the Disney+ television show The Mandalorian.

“Unreal Engine was running on four synchronized PCs to drive the pixels on the LED walls in real-time. At the same time, three Unreal operators could simultaneously manipulate the virtual scene, lighting, and effects on the walls.” From the Unreal Engine blog post.

Various short films have been made using the unreal engine as well. A collection of these short films can be found on the Rebelway VFX website, where they offer lessons on starting your VFX journey.

With the release of the newest Epic Games engine, Unreal Engine 5, even more improvements will come to various industries. Lastly, those interested in the Unreal Engine 5 can check out its product page. Additionally, check out their development website for any more information regarding Epic Games.
