THE WORLD PUZZLE
It was in one of the elementary schools where there are many immigrants and there are quite a few disciplinary problems. One morning a new teacher came in and immediately the two young group leaders, each from another country, began to swearword and make accusations against each other as to challenge teacher. The teacher was not surprised; she had already dealt with similar situations successfully and had her methods for every situation.
The next day she brought with her a world map puzzle (in 500 parts) and immediately at the beginning of the lesson when these two diverted the class to a noise, she asked them to get up from their seats and follow her out towards the teachers’ meeting-room.
In the teachers’ meeting-room, she explained to them, “You have to finish the puzzle before the end of the lesson, and if you do not complete the task, then starting from today, you both sit together in my lessons.”
The two children piled up,” What together?
“Come on, there’s not much time left for you until the bell rings,” said the teacher, and hurried back to the classroom.
In the class all the students wondered and pondered at the meaning of this, and to everyone’s amazement, the teacher explained with complete confidence that these two were in the teachers’ meeting-room, and their task was to put together a world map puzzle by the end of the lesson.
It was a few minutes before the bell for the break that the two children returned to class excitedly, “Teacher, we succeeded!” and both showed the puzzle to the whole class.
The class was shocked, wondering how the two of those who never listen to the lessons know at all how the map of the world looks and thus were able to complete the puzzle perfectly with all the parts in place.
“How did you do that?” Asked their classmates, “What are you geniuses and we did not know?”
“Well, look how we managed,” the two said, smiling at each other and turning the picture over on the other side, when a picture of two children holding hands was revealed to the whole class.
“We did not have a clue how the picture of the world looked, but we immediately discovered by the cover of the puzzle box that it was a two-sided puzzle so we just decided that it would be much simpler to complete the children part,” said one of them and his friend immediately completed his words, “so that when we finished connecting the puzzle pieces with the two children, we found out that we also completed the world puzzle perfectly.”
