No automation predates outsourcing which was the primary cause of the loss of tens of millions of highly paid US manufacturing jobs. Immigration does not cause job loss. What the mass immigration of cheap workers did absolutely and indisputably cause was greatly lower non professional class wage levels. Simple supply and demand.
