The Oculus Link is an app that allows you to connect your Oculus Quest to your computer so that you can play all the games available on that platform, like the thousands of titles in Steam VR. All without having to buy an Oculus Rift.

It has recently entered public beta, and so it has become available to everyone who owns an Oculus Quest.

All you need is to have your Quest and the Oculus App (on your PC) up to date. Linking them is as simple as connecting the platforms with a USB cable.

However, running a VR headset is very demanding. Is your computer up to the task?

Can it run the Oculus Link?

Check your RAM and processor

To be able to run the Oculus Link, your computer needs to have a Windows 10 Operating System and have at least 8 GB of RAM. Your processor must be at least an Intel i5–4590 or an AMD Ryzen 5 1500X.

To check which processor and how much RAM you have, open the search bar on your Start Menu and type “About”. Select “About This PC”, and a window will pop-up with your computer’s specifications. Your processor (and how much RAM you have) will appear on the screen.
