The Complement-and-Betterment Duo: Warrior and Mage

Warrior and Mage make a very good teamwork. I called this duo as a team of Complement-and-Betterment. Why? Warrior likes to charge ahead and clear the path while Mage likes to stay at the back and provide support. Warrior is physically and mentally strong while Mage is highly intelligent. They complement one another. Furthermore, Mage influences a Warrior to be a better Warrior. When Warrior becomes a better Warrior, so does the Mage as he or she will feel useful to be able to change the Warrior. Both grows and becomes better together.

A good real-life example is Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie Bezos of Amazon. Jeff is a Warrior and MacKenzie is a Mage based on my character-based gamification algorithm. As we all know that Jeff is the CEO and spokesperson of the world’s most valuable company — Amazon, but not many know that MacKenzie has assisted and supported Jeff in running Amazon right at the beginning. She was supportive of Jeff’s decision to strike out on his own and willing to give up comfortable lives. Can you imagine if she was not supportive back then? There probably won’t be any Amazon. MacKenzie was Amazon’s first accountant. In the early and tough days of starting up Amazon, she did a lot of other grunt work such as driving book orders to the post office to handle the company’s bank account. On top of that, she played important roles as a spouse, a mother of 4 children and the pioneer employee at her partner’s career. This definitely helped Jeff Bezos to be able to focus on building Amazon into billion dollar company. In an interview with a fashion and lifestyle magazine, MacKenzie brought out that the couple’s contrasting personalities complement each other. “He likes to meet people,” she said. “He is a very social guy.” As for her, She said that cocktail parties and brevity of conversations are not for her and can be nerve-racking. MacKenzie prefers to stay behind the media — in the company and at home, not in the limelight. Warrior, generally, is extroverted, likes to move, first one to take action — a doer, and, likes to interact with people (For Jeff Bezos, this is also because of his Talented Power is Ally), while, Mage tends to be more introverted and more of a thinker than a talker or doer. Although they have contrasting personalities, they complement one another. Most importantly, they make each other better. They were married since year 1993. Even though they were divorced in year 2019, they continue their shared lives as co-parents and friends.

PS: Are you a Warrior or Mage? If you are a Warrior, you can find a Mage business partner or/and employee, or, vice versa.
